A cosy country cottage with an Inglenook fireplace in the historical village
of Alciston located at the foot of the South Downs

The Cottage

Hunters Cottage is a lovely Grade II listed cottage in the quiet village of Alciston in the heart of the South Downs National Park.

The cottage has been extensively and sympathetically restored and furnished and equipped to the highest standard. It is located in stunning countryside along a quiet no through lane in the tranquil village of Alciston, one of the most beautiful and historic villages in England, with connections back to the Doomsday Book.

There are extensive walks around the South Downs directly from the cottage, easy access to the historical town of Lewes and it’s just a 15 minute drive to the coast for trips to the seaside.

This self-catering cottage can accommodate up to four guests comfortably. You can dine inside the cottage or in the lovely setting of the garden with its stunning views or at one of the many excellent pubs and restaurants in the immediate area.

We take one-week bookings, though off-season, Hunters Cottage can occasionally provide long weekend escapes from the hustle of city-life.

Hunters Cottage is non-smoking accommodation.

Room for two cars to park off-road in our own drive and additional off-street parking opposite the cottage.
